Even though I speak very little Portugese the staff was very helpful. The food was quite good the ladies who cleaned the room were very diligent in their duties and the staff at the front desh was most helpful. They especially went out of thier way to make my stay a really good time. They were very patient with a person(me) who doesn't speak the language. They spoke more English than I spoke Portuguese.
Nice staff, good location close to Praca Republica. Good floor terrace for relaxation, nice views. Good breakfast.
Good hotels are in short supply in Belém. What I perhaps missed, was food of good quality (except from the good breakfast) at the hotel. But the neighbouring hotel, Massilia, has a nice French restaurant.
Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast in light and decent small restaurant.
First room windowless, very noisy air-conditioner. Moved to slightly better room with door to shower cubicle-sized verandah. Airco still noisy. Thought price slightly high for type of room.
